Although I struggled through the first half (there were a lot of words I needed to look up!), the second half was much better. I think as the story progressed I felt that I got to really KNOW the characters better as they were, not what rubbish they believed in or spouted in the first half of the book. But isn't that how we get to know people? We have first impression and a superficial view, and then gradually we get to know the inner people they are. I found that I could relate to the inner struggles these characters had (again, not in the beginning) and that is why I felt connected to them. I cried at the end as well, mostly because it was such a shock. I also cried because of the time she had wasted her entire life not opening up to people. That was sad as well.
