Finished it today, and I still agree with my original 3 out of 5 stars. It ended with a whimper, but if you consider the Thrawn Trilogy as a whole, the story gets a 4.5 stars out of 5.

I enjoyed it the first time I read it, I enjoyed it again. I wo...more

I decided to reread the whole series. The second installment of this trilogy, which I first read back in 1992, is the best one in my opinion. It wraps up some plot points from the first book, and opens up a few more for the final book. As a Star Wars...more

I decided to reread this on a whim, I read it back in 1991, and I was amazed that I still remember things about the story and characters. I really enjoyed this book again, and I will probably read the whole series, and also read the other Zahn star w...more

I'm away from my SoCal home and in my Nevada home for the next two 2 weeks, and I took my New X-Men vol.1-3 with me to re-read.

It's amazing how much I don't remember about Vol.1 of Grant Morrison's New X-Men. Re-reading it is just as satisfying as...more

I don't know what to say about this book. I tried not to compare it to the TV series, but season one basically used 98% of this book to tell its story on the small screen. I did enjoy the book, we really got into Dexter's head, all the support charac...more

John Knowles
“Everyone has a moment in history which belongs particularly to him. It is the moment when his emotions achieve their most powerful sway over him, and afterward when you say to this person "the world today" or "life" or "reality" he will assume that you mean this moment, even if it is fifty years past. The world, through his unleashed emotions, imprinted itself upon him, and he carries the stamp of that passing moment forever.”

“People worry about kids playing with guns, and teenagers watching violent videos; we are scared that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands - literally thousands - of songs about broken hearts and rejection and pain and misery and loss.”
Nick Hornby, High Fidelity
