I'm not even going to bother with the plot (if there even is one?), but I'll simply say this. Take a ten-year-old, give him a typewriter and push him into freshman year of high school. Oh, and take away any knowledge of the English language. Be sure to keep very short, plain sentences and never ever ever use a contraction other than shortening "is".

Perks of A Wallflower is not what it's made out to be. It's a boring, cry-me-a-river-nothing-good-happens-in-my-life (even though the main character makes it that way) teen book. Just put it back on the shelf and pick something better. (For me, this is going to be the Vonnegut I was debating.)(less) "
