So Pierre is talking to his lady and is telling her, sweetest, lets go see the rose that opened this morning...and then he goes on to sweet talk her in to getting up and going to see the beauty that only lasts for so long--like her beauty, one day the rose will wither and die. So it's about taking advantage of the moment and for living in the beauty of the moment. Carpe diem and whatnot. It's one of my favorite poems because he seems to be so urgent in pleading for her to live for the day but also wanting her to recognize that her youth and beauty are fleeting.
I think.
do you think I would like "the good earth"? i think so....just have never gotten around to it. hope you're having a great day!
