Well a pretty dramatic book with the almost dystopian setting of the back rooms of the Toronto Subway. A lot of interesting literature has come out of Canada, especially that which is being written for an audience of young adults.

A bit dramatic and violent at times, the novel is full of suspence and drama. At times I thought found myself looking at other characters as suspects other than the one the villain turned out to be. A good trait of the mystery novel - to keep one guessing.

Interesting story with great characters. A nice sardonic Bay Area take on New York City. Tomine's post college characters ring true with pre-mid-life angst. A nice take on the Asian American experience as well. Tomines adult characters still carry with them the adolescent uncertainties and fears which affect their lives as struggling artists, movie theatre managers, and performance art attendees.
