We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism
Butcher found his stride, his confidence and his inner monologue. Dresden has grown a bit, grows even more in this work and the imagination Butcher shows is more than worth some of the silly moments that any bit of genre fiction will contain.
I also enjoyed a maturity between Dresden and Murphy (less talk, more substance), as well as the more grown-up Werewolf clan.
All in all, a great bit of genre fiction.

Obviously, Butcher was just getting his footing with Harry Dresden, Murphy and the crew. I had several issues with the dialogue, the pace and some of the more pervasive silly moments.
Not to mention Dresden's constant apologies for his chivalry.
