I just finished this book over the weekend and I had to force myself to finish it. I found it to be disappointing and too far-fetched in places to even escape into the land of fiction. Mostly, I just didn't care. At one point, I told a roommate that Brown had written a "soap opera" plot. IMO, The Lost Symbol is about as well-written as my review. On one hand I wish that I had not purchased this book but on the other, the publishing industry is hoping for the success of another The DaVinci Code and since I love reading so much, I feel I must support the industry; I just wish the book had been better.
However, one thing I will give this book and other Dan Brown works, is I learned a lot about DC that I didn't know. And will probably go on a "Lost Symbol" tour of DC.
