I picked up this book after my first child was born. After reading the first few chapters, I found myself weeping without control and staring at my son with an understanding I didn't have before. I knew the first time I held him that I would give anything for him, including my life, but I didn't think about how I would cease to exist if he did too.

My heart ached and throbbed throughout this book and after 2 days and swollen eyes, I was at peace with the fact that God's plan is way bigger and sometimes illegible to us. I do not know how I would respond to this kind of tragedy and still find myself fearing who I would become. I do know one thing, my God loves me and is good all the time. Though tragedy may occur in my life, that does not mean God has failed me or turned from me.

If you have children, take a deep breath and then sit down and read this book. God is moving and though there have been people who are against this because of the fiction/non-fiction issue, The Shack is a mind and heart changer. It brought me to my knees and I hope I can stay down here for awhile.
