From the son of the author of Beautiful Boy. A really really difficult read. Nic Sheff is brutally honest about his life on meth. He is also really explicit. The book was good, at least it got good towards the end. The beginning was so raw. I guess he didn't sugar coat anything. A lot of it made me uncomfortable at times but when I looked at it as him being honest about his life and his addiction it was a little easier to read through. It reminds me how messed up we are. How we are so self serving. How we only want to feel good and feel happy even if it means searching for that happiness in substances and dangerous relationships. I cautiously recommend this book. It took me getting to the end before I enjoyed it....less

Really good, really hard. You get inside the life of a meth addict's dad. You see what drug addiction does to a family. You also see the unconditional love of a father who is willing to sacrifice everything for his son. I liked how you got the personal story as well as a lot of the psychological and biological facts related to meth addiction.
Like I said, a hard read, but really really good at the same time. ...less

"I really enjoyed this book. It was a neat look into how Mars Hill Church and Acts 29 got going. Driscoll, though at times slightly inappropriate, tells an amazing story about starting a church in a place very hostile to the Gospel.
