Overall, I found this book extremely interesting and I'm sure it will be a great reference in the future. The scientific study of orgasm is fascinating with far reaching implications for biology, evolution, and human sexuality. The authors do a great job of not romanticizing any of the biological processes or scientific data (a pet peeve of mine). It's there, in all (well, most) of its sometimes counterintuitive, multi-syllabic glory. I also appreciated that the authors steered clear of trying to draw any broad sweeping conclusions in what is still a new field with very few definite answers (yet!).
Unfortunately, this books didn't quite live up to it's potential. It seemed to teeter between being a scientific reference book and being a popular science book, yet didn't quite manage either. The explanations of the experiments were too cursory for it to be a textbook and the prose was at times awkward, giving it less appeal for general audiences. Also the organization of the book was strange.
Even so, this book provides great material for future research (and I can guarantee I'll be flipping back to their References section many more times). Readers will definitely finish with a better understanding of the current state of orgasm research. Also kudos to the authors for addressing this often ignored topic, I only hope that more continue doing and popularizing this sort of work.
