HAW HAW HAW. Um, my guys loved this book and I try to recommend it all the irreverent teenage boys that come into the store. We're not talking Shakespearean here as in not great literature, but not a serious novel read either. Perfect for adolescent fellows. O yes please, we'll take all the info we can get! it seems most of our staff is not as good about the YA for girls yet. We know some of the best sellers based on conversations we've had with teens, or the few books we've read, and one lady used to work for Mable's Fables so she's savvy about what was sold, but most of us have not yet had a chance to really read some of the novels.
We also want to know the difference between really girlie girl novels and not so girlie girl novels (The Gossip Girls versus I am the Messenger for instance).
I tend to be better at finding non-girlie girl books based on what the fellas read at home, and my own preference for books.

As for a discount, if you have a teacher card, which I assume you do, you can get 20% off from us too. You have to come to the kids desk upstairs to get registered in our system and then go from there!

And Yes, it is in the new swishy Don Mills Mall, and we have a restaurant. I will be working Saturday night between 4 - 10pm if you're swinging on over during the day with your Mum.

Have you ever read Three Cups of Tea? A lady pointed it out yesterday and I thought it would be the book I want to read next except we only have one copy so I can't borrow that one in case I wreck it - we get to borrow books from the store as long as we're good with books. Very good incentive to work there.

I agree. and I really liked The Kite Runner although that was tough in parts too. I love that this is so informative of a part of the world and a culture that we can't possibly conceive as everyday for some people.
