I loved the book This Lullaby! I was very shocked that I was so into this book because I had assumed it would be about a rich stuck up white girl who gets everything her way and doesn't care about anyone but herself. Oh! How wrong I was. This book is about a girl who has experience how love comes and goes and isn't really true. Her mother, an Author of many romance novels, has been married more than four times and is getting married a fifth time, and her OWN boyfriend had been cheating on her. So she starts to wonder...less

My opinion on The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is that it is a little more complicated than it needs to be. I felt that the Author, Ann Brashares, writes in a way where she adds many words to describe things and events and it tends to get confusing.
The books story line is very fascinating indeed. It talks about four girls whose mothers all met in a aerobics class when they were pregnant, they were all born around the same time, and they all grew up together; as friends. As the story goes on, it is the summer after freshman year they all go there separate ways; Lena to Greece, Carmen to visit her father, Bridget to a soccer camp in Baja California, and Tibby who stays home and meets new people as she works on her summer directing project. Before each of them depart, they find a pair of pants at the thrift store. Surprisingly enough, the pants fit all four of them, even Carmen who has a "Mexicana" figure. During the summer, they send the pants to each other as good luck and all and as the pants are being sent, the book talks about all the troubles and adventures the girls go through.
I think the book was good, but not one of my favorites, but I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a book with an interesting story line....less

The Girls in the Back of the Class is a very good book. Written very well by Author LouAnne Johnson. I didn't read the first book, My Posse Don't Do Homework, but it still made sense as I read along.
What I liked most about this book was LouAnne Johnson's role as a teacher and even though people would tell her that she shouldn't her job as a teacher so seriously, she would keep doing what she felt was right. That was very motivating for me because it goes to show you that there are people out there who really care about what they do and who they are helping out in the world.
After reading this book, I also considered being a teacher in a school where there are many students that have been given up on by many people around them. From this book, I learned that there is a little hope in everyone, you just have to help them believe in themselves.
Overall, this book was a very good and inspirational book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I really enjoyed this book. I love reading this because it explains her personal feelings about integrating Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. It talks about how Melba Patillo, one of the nine black students chosen to integrate the all white Central High School, in 1957, went through so much discrimination and injustice, from being assaulted in the hallways to being harassed at home, she and the other eight could never seem to get away from the hurt and pain caused by fighting for what was rightfully theirs.
I think people should read this book to see how black people were treated back then and how much they had to fight to give young people, like me, the equal rights and education that the white students got. This book is well written and seems like it's fiction but the cold hard truth about it is... it's not.
Read Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Patillo Beals, you shall not be be dissapointed.
