I know nothing about economics, yet Chris Anderson somehow managed to explain the Long Tail phenomenon to me in an easy to understand and engaging manner, using relevant examples from sites I use everyday such as Amazon, itunes and Google and the media. This subject is absolutely fascinating - and I think this theory could absolutely revolutionize the way business is handled. ...less

I kind of wish I hadn't seen the movie of this before reading it because obviously I knew the BIG TWIST beforehand. But what was remarkable was the way that this was handled in the book - there are enough clues left to the reader as the story builds up, but the moment in which the reality about who Tyler Durden is is revealed is still shocking and at the same time makes complete sense, given what has gone on beforehand. This is a brutal violent book, and I have to admit some of the scenes did make me feel a bit sick (and the movie didn't) but at the same time I think its a raw, powerful story about the disillusionment of modern life and trying to find meaning within. The style of the author is also really powerful, and I found myself totally hooked. ...less
