I dont recall reading this before but who knows...anyways a while ago there was some recet tv production of this on tv that i only caught the end of and I decided I really must read it.
When we were up in queensland last weekend i read it on my dads DS. Stayed up all night reading.
Certainly dont love it as much as Pride and Prejudice but I liked it quite a lot.
My fave bit was when Anne reads Wentworths letter towards the end.
I really disliked Annes family.

I read this years ago.
My local public library had a surprising number of Storms books and during my unemployed bum phase of 1998-1999 I was at the local library borrowing books and reading like a MANIAC and read all the Storm Constantine books they had.
They had the first and third book that are contained in this omnibus but I refused to read #3 till I had read #2.
I was drawn by the pretty boy artwork on the covers at the time. lol
Anyways so a few years later I was working in Sydney and I had bought heaps of Storms other books at Galaxy bookshop in Sydney and finally gave in and bought this too.
Its a big read because its three books in one but it is AWESOME! The world is fascinating, some of the characters i just LOVE.
In the first book I quite liked Pell and sorta hated Cal, but book 3 made me love Cal.
Just a warning - if sorta hemaphrodite peeps give you the heebie jeebies pls to be staying away! :D
After forcing myself to not read 3 until I had read 2? Well 1 and 3 are my two faves of the three stories. lol

Was okay. I mean its clearly just chick porn with some supernatural elements thrown in - in this case vampires, vampire hunters and angels.
The overall story was ok, and the ending at least was satisfying because the main character and the hero at least have a shot of some equality, but yeah I dont know if i can get down with these extreme alpha male characters. I dont think I will be taking up reading these types of books on a regular basis (though if someone whose opinion i trust gave one a great review I would probably give it a go). i like my plain old normal world girl porn. lol(less)

It took me a lil while to read this because I would only read it for about 10 mins while waiting for the train in the morning or afternoon (because i actually sleep on the train to and from work...itrs a long commute).
It was really easy to read which is always a plus - if i had read it in one go i would have ben done in a few hours.
The main character Rod was such a funny lil guy and the universe its set in is so interesting.
I read that most of the authors other stories are all set in the same universe so that is AWESOME! Can not wait to read more by him.
Yeah another not very exciting review from me.(less)

I read this because a guy i know said it was his favourite book. It took me AGES to read it (hello library fines!!).
The only thing I liked was some of the descriptive stuff.
I was ok with what was happening right up till when the group of guys the Kid was with massacred the indians. Not sure why it turned me off so much as they had described the aftermath of massacres that they had come across and I had no dramas with that.
And i had read a bit about the end on wikipedia before I began reading so i was kinda disappointed there wasnt more detail of what happened. But maybe thats part of the point - leaving you to imagine the worst you can think of.

i cant really do review without writing whopping spoilers but i liked this book very much. was so happy when jake returned.
i loved all the links between rolands world and ours.
i even like how it ends kind of abruptly. good for me i suppose as i am reading it years after it was first published so i wont have to wait anxiously to readthe next book. :D(less)
