A novel that will take you above and beyond of the importance of literature written by Salman Rushdie. A boy named Haroun finds everything up to him when his father, the great storyteller looses his ability to tell stories. He embarks on a journey, facing from water genies to chupwala armies to gain all the knowledge back. Even though it was all made-up, I liked the story. I recommend it to everyone, because everyone has a kid in them. ...less

This book was basically a play about a black family who lives in a tenament building, and their struggles to provide the best for their family and themselves. The grandma gets a check for ten thousand dollars after the grandpa died. And we read as we see each indivdual character make their own decisions as to how to use the money. Although it has a lot of great insights, and the play title itself is insightful, I thought at some parts it was boring, so I gave it a three. I would still recommend it to everyone, though....less

This intense novel that potrays the reality of drug abusers all around the world. A friend recommended it to me, and at first I didn't want to read it. However after having left no more book choices, I picked it up and was glad to have done so. It was a real disturbing book (in a good way). Based on a real diary, about a girl Named Alice who experiments with drugs, only to find the negative effects. I recommend this book to all high schoolers....less

This book basically talks about the journey of the Buddha. About a man named Siddhartha Gautama who journeys into the wilderness to find the true meaning of life. It is a very short book, however it's not something that should be taken lightly. My teacher told me it is filled with blossoming philosophical thoughts, and she was right, it is. I recommend this book to those who want to learn more about the origins of Buddhism. This book could be for anyone, but I doubt all will love or like it....less

Tucker is a young veterenarian who works with horses and other large animals. Samantha is a horse lover, she has a ranch and raises horses. Samantha's horses mysteriously start getting sick and Tucker the brave jumps in to save they day. They eventually develop a bond, and as with all romance novels, it becomes more than just friends. I like this book because I like romance novels; and I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance novels as well....less
