Loved this book! Having read Ella Enchanted some years ago, I was intrigued by this book before I even read it--and I was not disappointed. I do have a real weakness for the classic battle of good and evil, and especially like the "not all that glitters is gold" (yes, I am aware that that phrase belongs to Tolkien, but still, it is applicable here) message of Fairest....less

Great book! After reading so many of the "quilter" books, it was a lot of fun for me to get some of the "backstory" about Sylvia's mother, while simultaneously watching Andrew and Sylvia's story progress. The story line also clarified some of the reasons for Waterford's attitude toward Sylvia and the Bergstrom family....less

What a fun book! As in so many of the "quilter books" a main focus is Sylvia Compson, the "master quilter" of the title. This book gives us a chance to see how Sylvia has influenced many people with not only her quilting skills and teaching, but her life skills as well. Makes me think of all the people who have influenced and taught me as well....less

I loved this book! I have read several of the "quilt" books, and this is one of my favorites. The story involves the Underground Railroad and the part the Bergstrom family played in it. It was fascinating to discover along with Sylvia that sometimes family legends are just that--legends. I wonder if the family stories we hold dear actually conceal very different events. Anyway--what a great book--it has to be one of my favorites of the series!...less

I love this series of books! I really do think, though, that to enjoy this book it is helpful to have read the others of the series. Even though the author tries to give some background info on the different characters, I don't think it would be easy to care about their development without having read the earlier books....less

This book was a lot of fun. There was a lot of jumping around between time periods, but it didn't get out of control. It is the story of six friends (with the focus on one), beginning in high school. This book takes place as they are turning 30. It looks like (from the cover) that it is the beginning of a series, so maybe each of the friends will have a turn as protagonist. I hope so!...less
