I got an advance copy from the Goodreads giveaway. I've just started it. It's a hefty book, but I'm flying through the first few chapters.

I remember I had read this book when I was a kid. I was at the library book sale and it was 25 cents so I picked it up. It was a quick and fun read. I remember as a kid, I thought it was so cool they were living in a museum and how they were clever about finding a place to sleep, to bathe, and to hide. My 7 year old niece has read it and she liked it too.

Told from the perspective of a Harvard professor who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at age 50. Typically you think of Alzheimer's as something people get at age 80 or so. By making the main character an otherwise healthy woman in her fifties, the author shows how this disease takes away a lot from those that have it. Their careers, relationships, and memories are stripped away.

It's a very real look at Alzheimer's disease and so it's a very engaging thought provoking read. I started to think about what I would do in that situation. It also made me a little bit paranoid since I'm already prone to forgetfulness and trouble finding words for things.

I think I read this book back when I was in junior high. Enough time has passed that I don't remember all the twists and details so I can finally reread it. It's a well-crafted suspenseful story. Ten strangers are stranded on an island and one by one they are killed. One of them is the murderer, but who?

I read this one fast. It's short, but I also just had to know who was next and how they would die. And I was constantly flipping back and forth looking for clues. Now that I've read it again, I can still say this is one of Agatha Christie's best.
