description: GuyWriters, the only gay men’s writing group in San Francisco, presents “More Than Words: Poetry, Prose and Plays Fight AIDS.” The World AIDS Day event on December 1 will feature members of GuyWriters reading original works on the topic of HIV/AIDS. Best-selling author Kemble Scott will be the night’s special guest.

I didn't read this book cover to cover, but rather flipped through the essays that seemed pertinent. I adored Charles Bernstein's essay "The Difficult Poem" which struck just the right cord of wiry teasing and genuine comfort to those who find themselves at see when dealing with experimental, indeterminate, challenging poems. "Stages of Encounter with a Difficult Text" by Lyn Hejinian was also incredibly useful. ]]>
