Sequel to "Stray". Faythe is the first female to become an enforcer and she's working hard to prove that she deserves the title. Unfortunately, her problems are never simple and they all seem to pop up at once. Her old boyfriend has come from out of nowhere and he is intent on getting Faythe back, as the same time that a murderer has begun to kill of strays and humans. To top it all off, she's trying to control new abilities that no one believes she has and an old secret is coming back to haunt her. This book is just as good if not better than it's prequel and I am eagerly anticipating the next one, "Pride" which is supposed to be out around Feb 2009. The violence is a little more mild than in "Stray", but the action is better. Not a romance series....less

If you love Janet Evanovich for her mystery novels but are disappointed with her romance, then Susan Donovan is for you! Knock Me Off My Feet is a Mystery-Romance with extra steamy scenes (9 on a scale of 10). A killer and a cop are both out to get her, but both for different purposes. The killer doesn't just want Audie dead, they also want her to suffer and sabotages her relationships with everyone she cares about. Very adult scenes, some language. A great read, and a great recommendation for people who like Evanovich....less

Lucy is funny and smart, but she has spent several years loathing her body since being the target of a college prank. It was bad enough when Lucy's boss talked her into losing weight for a publicity stunt, but then she met her trainer. Theo is hot and Lucy finds it harder and harder to keep the relationship professional, especially when she finally gets it through her head that Theo is into her too. The situation gets really complicated after Lucy's boss makes some shady deals that could mean danger for her, and people from old relationships (for both Theo and Lucy) start popping up. Adult situations, and a little language, but mostly mild. A very good read....less

This is a good Inspirational novel for those who want to break into the genre. "Jade" has lost her memory after an accident while on vacation and it is up to Nica and her brother Kai to figure out what happened. Kai thinks that the memory loss is some kind of scam until Jade remembers that she wasn't on vacations alone, and leads Kai to her injured companion just in time to save his life. The danger isn't over, and as Jade regains her memory the clues suggest that her accident was anything but. Jade is still in danger and gaining her memory only makes matters more complicated as her involvement in a scandal comes to light. The story is uplifting without sugarcoating human nature or ignoring the ugly points of life....less

Faythe is a strong independent woman intent on living her own life by her own rules. Unfortunately, she is also one of few females in the werecat community which means that to remain safe from roving stray males, she must either fight every day or allow her family to keep her safely tucked away and constantly watched. When someone begins kidnapping werecats, Faythe has to teach the attackers a lesson, and show her family that she can take care of herself. Pretty good for a first book....less

This was a fantastic read! Shadow finds out several days before he is scheduled to be released from prison that his wife (his reason for living) has died in a car crash. He leaves prison with no job, home, or direction. He is approached by a man named Wednesday who knows details of Shadow's life and offers him a job. Shadow reluctantly accepts, not realizing that Wednesday is really an old world god. Shadow is sucked into a battle between the gods of old and new, and accidently brings his dead wife back along the way. I enjoyed the mix of history and mythology that Gaiman adds to the novel.
Do not mistake this book for another Stardust!!! This is a very adult read if not for languate, or mild gore, then for certain "talents" of some of the gods....less

I really like the Aunt Dimity series, but I think the story line is moving in a different direction from my own life which makes it harder for me to connect with the main character. In the first book, Lori was a single female solving mysteries. Even when she got married and became a mother, the focus of the book was still on the mystery, and some romance. Now, Lori has become a mother obsessively absorbed in the lives of her children. I felt that the vampire plot, and especially the involvement of Aunt Dimity took a backseat to Lori's kids. One could argue that this book is meant to be more about Lori's personal growth, and about letting go. However, I felt that with my favorite elements of of the story on the backburner, all the quirks about Lori that I find annoying became much more so. This book simply does not have the humor of the rest of the series. Maybe if I had kids I'd care more about the child-smothering plot....less
