I have become a real Carl Hiaasen fan--this was my third book I've read in the past couple of months. He writes pulp fiction murder mysteries with a sense of humor. My favorite was Bad Monkey, and Basket Case is also very good.

I am a huge Asimov fan, and recently found this free for Kindle download at our local library. Book was very sciencey. Was divided into different stories that tied together, including a story in another universe with weird aliens. Loved it.

While this book was pretty good, I found it long and meandering--thus the 3-star rating. Too many characters. Too many tangents, some of which showed promise but then that character was never heard from again. Just too much.

The Wish Giver was a lot of fun. Reminded me somehow of Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes (although less brilliant). Good, compelling story--almost read like a collection of short stories, although nicely connected.

This was a great collection of short stories, geared for adult readers. I loved several of the stories. (There were some I did not like and skipped.) The stories somehow reminded me of Anton Chekhov's short stories, involving romance, but going off i ...more
