"Currently listening to the audio book, so I have no idea how much % I'm on to be honest. Just wanted to leave some thoughts.

1. Love the world-building.
2. At the same time, hate the man information dumps. Sometimes the story seems to go on and on about small details - and if you think about it, nothing really has happened."

"Hmmm, it's not really doing it for me. I will continue, because I'm curious about the mystery, but I don't care about the characters." Apr 15, 2017 03:03AM

John Connolly
“He would talk to them of stories and books, and explain to them how stories wanted to be told and books wanted to be read, and how everything that they ever needed to know about life and the land of which he wrote, or about any land or realm that they could imagine, was contained in books. And some of the children understood, and some did not.”
John Connolly, The Book of Lost Things

James Burke
“When you read a book, you hold another's mind in your hands.”

Carrie Ryan
“Suddenly, all I can think about are all the things I don't know about him. All the things I never had time to learn. I don't know if his feet are ticklish or how long his toes are. I don't know what nightmares he had as a child. I don't know which stars are his favorites, what shapes he sees in the clouds. I don't know what he is truly afraid of or what memories he holds closest.
And I don't have enough time now, never enough time. I want to be in the moment with him, feel his body against mine and think of nothing else, but my mind explodes with grief for all that I am missing. All that I will miss. All that I have wasted.”
Carrie Ryan, The Forest of Hands and Teeth
