"It's safe to say I found myself dumbfounded by Hugo's storytelling! Reading the first volume of the story, Fantine, I seem to have also found such belonging to some of the characters, hence the unstoppable highlighting (which is my current pretext for slowing down). All I can say is that this beautiful masterpiece, laced with quite a portion of unadulterated misery, is truly admirable! Looking forward to the 2nd Vol." Jan 17, 2013 08:04am

Unholy Night narrates the story of the Three Wise Men, during the birth of Christ, quite differently than it was conceived in the Bible. Not that I've read the Bible just yet, and I've never really heard of them before, but I learned a little when I...more

“Corruption and envy and lust for power. Cruelty and coldness. A vicious probing curiousity. Pure, poisonous, toxic malice. You have never from your earliest years shown a shred of compassion for sympathy or kindness without calculating how it would return to your advantage. You have tortured and killed without regret or hesitation; you have betrayed and intrigued and gloried in your treachery. You are a cess-pit of moral filth."
