Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band by Kwame Alexander
My rating:
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing

Fun story about Acoustic Rooster who starts a band for a jazz contest. This one will find a tough time finding a young audience to appreciate the plays on names and songs, but the message will ring true: somtimes, it's finding friends and doing what ...more

Mediocre story with some forced rhymes, but this could find a home for teaching rhymes.

Little Bunny Foo Foo by Cori Doerrfeld
My rating:
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing

read in December, 2011
My rating:
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing

Intriguing take on Grimm fairy tales, but very, very dark and gruesome for some young readers. The narration - both in the writing and in the audio reading - enhanced the feeling of listening to classic fairy tales by a modern reader.
Stefani gave 4 of 5 stars to:

Love the story; I enjoyed the promotion of bowling as a sport!

However, I was distracted by the audiobook narrator. The voices were either non-existent or way over-the-top.
