I enjoyed more the author's craft than the story itself. I was intrigued by the story and want to read his first break out novel - The Chocolate War.

I enjoyed this book. I felt entertained while I was reading and was rooting for the happy ending. I liked the insight into "English" life, like the term 'maths.' I'd happily read another of her books.

Samir, a Palestinian boy, has an innocence that I found beautiful as he tells his story of his time in an Israeli hospital ward. This is a sweet fictional story that has little bits of history sprinkled throughout it.
