So I haven't read anything else by the author, but I'll admit that I kind of loved this book.
It's a Christmas story set in the 1960's and told from the perspective of a Catholic school boy - who also happens to be a distant cousin of (America's sweetheart of the time) Annette Funicello. There are parts that are inappropriate and others that are very touching, but often it's just laugh out loud funny.
