This was a wonderful book! Not only did I learn some fascinating history about an event I don't remember studying, but it was a fun story about interesting people. All flawed, but all likable in their own ways.

This book captures the muggy heat of Bangkok and made me feel like I spent a week there. Without the pain of 20 hours on airplanes :). The plot was a bit holey and the writing erratic. Still, I enjoyed the trip to the wrong side of the tracks in BKK.
