This book was a hot mess and that's all there is to it. I am a fan of Kristan Higgins' backlist, and the first book in the Blue Heron series was a delight. But this series has gone downhill with each installment and this was the worst yet. It had no...more

Quinn's Book Nook
Quinn's Book Nook is 60% done with The Raven Boys: What is going on with Adam and Blue and Gansey, and oh my gosh this is so freaking amazing. And I want to know Noah more. He's so shy and quiet and just adorable. Oh and Ronan!

Quinn's Book Nook
Quinn's Book Nook is 25% done with The Raven Boys: Oh my gosh! This book. I can't even. Every character is so interesting and fleshed out and I just love ALL THE BOYS and Blue and her family and just everybody! Except for that teacher who seems up to no good. Although I don't hate him, but he definitely seems like a suspicious character.
"It was ridiculous. There was no reason why he had to be Death himself. "

And I'll be around, Rose. I'll be there all the time. When you're working I'll ring you up from school and remind you to take your medication. I won't go away for weeks and months at a time. You'll know where I am and it will never be far away.Linda Gillard

Maggie Stiefvater
“Sometimes, Gansey forgot how much he liked school and how good he was at it. But he couldn't forget it on mornings like this one—fall fog rising out of the fields and lifting in front of the mountains, the Pig running cool and loud, Ronan climbing out of the passenger seat and knocking knuckles on the roof with teeth flashing, dewy grass misting the black toes of his shoes, bag slung over his blazer, narrow-eyed Adam bumping fists as they met on the sidewalk, boys around them laughing and calling to one another, making space for the three of them because this had been a thing for so long: Gansey-Lynch-Parrish.”
Maggie Stiefvater, Blue Lily, Lily Blue

Rosamund Hodge
“You deserve all that and more. It made me happy to see you suffer. I would do it all over again if I could." I realized I was shaking as the words tumbled out of me. "I would do it again and again. Every night I would torment you and laugh. Do you understand? You are never safe with me." I drew a shuddering breath, trying to will away the sting of tears.

He opened his eyes and stared up at me as if I were the door out of Arcadia and back to the true sky. "That's what makes you my favorite." He reached up and wiped a tear off my cheek with his thumb. "Every wicked bit of you.”

Evelyn Pryce
“So the Bawdy Bluestocking was the proprietress of her own shop, selling lurid novels to ladies in the front and more esoteric fare in the back, from the looks of the shelves around him. He spied Pope and Crabbe, Shakespeare, of course, and names he did not recognize at all. He wondered how she chose her stock and where it came from. She must spend her days in endless research. The thought was unaccountably lovely to him.”
Evelyn Pryce, A Man Above Reproach

Laura Florand
“Paris was a good place to fight your demons.”
