I read this overnight in a hospital room, with my mom's wheezing next to me, after her tracheotomy was taken out. A heavy book, lightened only by its beautiful descriptions. Perhaps we read about other's desperation and hope in the face of such dire situations to remind us somehow how lucky we might be. Is that f***ed up? ]]>
