A Murder in Passing by Mark de Castrique
A Murder in Passing (Sam Blackman #4)
by Mark de Castrique (Goodreads Author)
read in May, 2013
This is a very elegant rerun of a well-tried plot device with a pleasingly positive spin on a man making the best of his life after losing his leg. It's well worth reading.

Night Terrors by Dennis Palumbo
This is a major improvement on Fever Dreams and shows Dennis Palumbo developing into a reliable mystery author.

The Sound of One Hand Killing by Teresa Solana
This is a terrific piece of writing. It's a neat piece of metafiction in which the author sets the investigators off to establish the background for the novel she's writing and this gets them involved in a murder case (well, actually a second murder...more
