This book provides a glimpse into the tiny, largely neglected and/or unrealized country of Eritrea and examines how it has played a pivotal role as a staging ground for Cold War rivalries and post-Cold War buys for power. Despite its primary geographic position in the world for powerful countries, it has become increasingly more neglected....less

Samantha Power writes incisively about genocide in the twentieth century in a way that both gives weight to the situations while also making it readable for those who may not have known about these topics before. An important book for everyone; an especially interesting one for those concerned about our country's record of inaction in areas in need of attention....less
