both ways of life have their positives, i believe. i live on a farm, do some if not all of that self sufficiency lark and believe me, it is far from being a rural idyll. it is hard work, a lot harder than anything i have been paid for, and living so far away from a city means a hell of a lot of organisation if you want to go away for a holiday, or even just a weekend out with friends. the geographical isolation can be a double edged sword, on the one side the isolation means that you have ample scope for creative projects, and on the other is a temptation to just relax, attend to the little chores around the place that need doing [there is always,always something that requires attention on a farm:] & let your creative goals fall by the wayside!
