An excellent book on a relatively little known subject. I would highly recommend this due to the maps, good writing and coverage of an interesting war.

Before you read this you MUST read the Scalzi novella "Locked In". It a direct tie in and prequel to this book. I'm a fan of Scalzi and love the unexpected books he throws our way, like this one. A mystery, intriguing characters and great ideas.

An excellent book about a man trying to get out of his deal with the Devil. Lots of tongue in cheek humor. Johannes would be an interesting dinner guest and a bad enemy.

Well done, nicely detailed book on units that were a big part of the US war effort in WWII. I liked the TO&E info and the battle descriptions. An Osprey title worth reading if you have an interest in WWII.

While the book had some useful information, it was limited in that there is just barebones coverage of the three main users of gliders, The US, British, and Germans. I would liked to have seen a write up on a couple of battles where gliders played an...more

“When you cross over into the weird stuff, there's no going back. Hector has a theory on it. Calls it the law of 'Anomalous Phenomena Attraction.' He explained it to me once. Didn't really pay attention, but it boils down to 'weird shit pulls in more weird shit.”
