I'm giving this book five stars because I loved everything about it and couldn't put it down. It made me feel like I could run 50 miles even though just a month ago I barely, barely made it through 26.2. I will say that clearly McDougall is really only presenting one side to the story, but it's a really charming story, so who cares. Not sure if you have to be a runner to like this as much as I did. I read about half the book during my 30 minute lunch break, and, man, she needs an editor. Badly.

I feel sort of bad giving this only 2 stars, but it was a bit of a let down. I've heard nothing but good things about her live show (which I am currently making plans to go see), but this book feels like a half-assed attempt to capitalize further on the success of said performance. It reads really awkwardly and doesn't make a lot of sense.
