This was a cute and interesting fantasy book, in the vein of a married couple thrown into a fantasy world, where they discover their magical powers and find out they are protectors and "the good guys".

I thought this a pretty cool, "discovery" kind of science fiction, where two species discover each other, join to battle bad guys and live to forge a future. The science behind it? okay. It's more of a character story than anything...

Another good book in this series. I liked the really short chapters as they helped move the story very quickly, letting you jump around in the action, no matter where it was happening. The Captain is still very "Kirk" like in that he's pretty go get-u...more

Interesting stories from someone you KNOW was there, did that... Makes war and battles look gritty, ugly, brutal, all of which is true, yet in good story form. These are short stories and a novella, that don't share characters or places.
