I read this book ages ago when I was in high school or college. It was really interesting, but it scared me enough that I slept with the lights on.

This book was a fun read. Frank Bruni, the outgoing food critic for the NY Times, writes about his lifelong relationship with food. It is a love-hate-love-hate--learn to love in moderation story. If you love food--sometimes perhaps a little too much--this book is for you.

This is Niffeneggar's follow up to The Time Traveler's WIfe. Anyone looking for a sweeping romantic story--in other words, another Time Traveler--will be disappointed. This is a different book. While there are elements of romance, this is a modern ghost story, and I found the story to be quite engaging. There are a couple of story devices that I think that author intended to be unexpected twists. The first one struck me as largely unnecessary, but I will not expand on that here. No spoilers. I loved the setting--Highgate Cemetary in London. This was a fun, interesting book. i even enjoyed the secondary story about the upstairs neighbors. A good read--particularly for this time of year.

Of all four books in the Twilight Saga, this book is the most improbable--and that is saying something. Still, it is a page turner. I also totally think that SM left to door open to future books or a new spin-off series. I am officially a Twilighter.

Edward is back as the star in this one. Not as much plot development here--but Edward's chest is as marble-like as ever. The story line about a woman who will do anything for the man in her life--giving up everything including friends and family--is a little disturbing when you think about it. I don't think that Stephanie Meyer was going for a feminist message, though.

Ridiculously addictive. Yes, it was written for teenage girls--as evinced by the numerous, lengthy references to Edward's marble-like chest--but it is a fun read.

I picked up this book because I read several favorable reviews comparing it to Curtis Sitenfeld's Prep, which I loved. I guess I can see vauge comparrisons as they are both campus novels of sorts. Commencement definitely does not have the quality of writing or cohesion of storyline that makes Prep such a great novel. This, instead, is like The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants for the post-Smith years. The storylines are all a bit thin and predictable, and there is way too much emphasis put on the particulars of what it is like to be a "Smithie". Perhaps being a member of that club would have made for a more enjoyable reading experience. Instead, buying this book in hardback felt like a waste of money.
