“There are settling girls, and there are unsettling girls. The ones who seem to have it in them to be flyers are the ones who want to snuggle into settling. The ones who look as settled as old housedogs want to twist their way into flying. Necessarily, you must be defensive about being a settling sort of girl.”
“On my bedside table is a snow globe with a winterscape inside. Church, park bench, girl standing shin-deep in snow. Tip the snow globe over and a blizzard of slow snow falls over church and bench and girl. What is it about snow globes that makes them fascinating and terrifying at once?
My heart lurches at the thought of the snow-globe girl waiting endlessly, with only the hope of a new snow blizzard to settle on her mantle when the next person tips her snow-globe world over. Not a gust of breeze may ruffle her skirt, not a bird may perch atop the steeple. The only way out of a snow globe is by shattering the glass dome that is its sky.”
“She wasn't my kind of woman and that's why, that night she was. This wine is the Blood of Christ. Brings the truth out of a woman sooner than any confession box does. Makes you trust a stranger with your life, your car keys, your best-guarded secret.”

Start the challenge by creating a post with the title of your challenge. After your post is created, file it in the appropriate folder based on your username. Use that post to add your books as you finish reading them. (See the How to post a new discussion topic thread for a more detailed how-to.)
There is a weekly question (posted on Fridays) to stimulate conversation among us 50 book people.
This group is a place for support, recommendations, and discussions! At the end of the year we'll have a thread for people to post their read lists.
Start now! The goal is to read 50 books in a year. We have fun!

If you don't want to meddle too much into the classics and don't want to be drowned under the hype surrounding the Gen Present's hot favourites.. If the interest generated by another mention of Hunger Games or Twilight makes you longingly look at your long list of to-reads that you just never seem to reach.. If you have a knack for rather unconventional, diverse books than for the highly publicised all time favorites.. This is the place to be.
We'll cover the books on different genres, coming from different time frames, saying different things, depicting different emotions. Books that are neither too old nor too new. The feel good books, the thought provoking, the tear jerking, funny books, sarcastic books, non fiction, short stories, hard to understand. Whatever strikes you.
Just pick that book off the shelf, the one you have been wanting to read but kept on postponing. Or just share a book which never received its much deserved credit & you have a group to recommend it to & share your views with.
To kickstart, I've picked the book- Perfume-The story of a murderer.
