Not great. I liked DaVinci Code. I really liked Angels & Demons. I thought this one was just ho-hum. He does still write in that page-turning style, only giving you a couple of pages about each character, but the overall story just doesn't live up to the hype. I thought he made Robert Langdon sound like an idiot much of the time, and while there was some good action that I'm sure will translate well to film, the "mysteries" of the Masons turn out to be not that mysterious, or even that interesting.
Great story...BUT the author uses profanity and slang in a way that is really unnecessary at times. I am usually not one to complain about a well-placed four letter word, but there are times when the author uses profane words when the cleaner ones would have done just as well and not compromised the characters or setting.
That said, I liked the story and plan to see the movie.

Very, very, detailed. I now know more about the history of children's television production than I ever thought I would. (Who knew that Captain Kangaroo was kind of a jerk?) Not enough about the cast and individual sketches.

This one totally made me want to start eating baguettes and sweet cream butter for breakfast. The author does a really good job of giving one the feel of what life in a small french town is. My only criticism would be that the book didn't have much of a story arc. No main conflict to be resolved, no overarching theme. Just a pretty setting.
