about this author
I've got a Wiki page, which is weird. And I also have a guy out in Cyberspace running a role-playing game based on some stuff that my writing group, Clockwork Storybook, did a few years back. Interesting. Blood & Thunder was nominated for a World Fantasy Award, which it didn't win. It was also nominated for the Locus Award, which it didn't win, either. However, it *did* win the Cimmerian Award for Best Book about Robert E. Howard. And frankly, that's the coolest statue I've ever seen. I currently live in a small town, where a great many people don't understand me. Man, I miss Austin. Stuff I've done can be found at www.revolutionsf.com and I also blog irregularly at www.thecimmerian.com. |

"From 30 feet away she looked like a lot of class. From 10 feet away she looked like something made up to be seen from 30 feet away. "

"It is no use telling me there are bad aunts and good aunts. At the core, they are all alike. Sooner or later, out pops the cloven hoof. "

"I have said that Texas is a state of mind, but I think it is more than that. It is a mystique closely approximating a religion. And this is true to the extent that people either passionately love Texas or passionately hate it and, as in other religions, few people dare to inspect it for fear of losing their bearings in mystery or paradox. But I think there will be little quarrel with my feeling that Texas is one thing. For all its enormous range of space, climate, and physical appearance, and for all the internal squabbles, contentions, and strivings, Texas has a tight cohesiveness perhaps stronger than any other section of America. Rich, poor, Panhandle, Gulf, city, country, Texas is the obsession, the proper study, and the passionate possession of all Texans."
