"I honestly can't compare this to other guidebooks to Honduras. It's a few years out of date. (For example, a friend of ours now owns the premier dive resort in Utila, but it's not mentioned in this book). Still, we're finding it very helpful.

Very helpful for thinking about itineraries. Instead of attempting to provide a comprehensive guide (a la Fodor's, Lonely Planet, or Frommer's), the Open Road series narrows down your choices into a series of "best of" itineraries, organized according to the length of your trip. We started with this book, then supplemented with a more comprehensive guide book for additional details. It's an approach that I'd recommend!(less)

Excellent documentary history; the majority of its documents are taken directly from archives, rather than published sources, and so would not otherwise by easily available to most who wish to review cases other than Salem (which is much more thoroughly researched than any other seventeenth-century New England witch case).
But reader, beware: in the 1999 edition-- at least in my copy -- pages 187-219 have been inserted in reverse order, and upside down. Very, very strange. Could it be . . . demonic ??(less)

This book really is for gardeners. Excellent resource if your primary goal is to produce great compost to enrich your garden soil. But if you're like me, what you really want to do is simply recycle your garbage and yard waste, and keep that stuff out of the landfill. I'm not interested in maintaining a 150-degree temperature in my compost in January. So what I need is something more low-key, low-maintenance. But I like that he does explain the science, and should I ever take up serious gardening, I'll look to this book for help.(less)
