K.D. Oliveros's review of Ang Pag-Ibig ni Maryang Sinukuan / The Love of Maryang Sinukuan (Ang Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang):
"
This is one of the individual illustrated books that Anvil Publishing, Inc. released to make the reading of Reyes' masterpiece more appealing to children.
All these books have a standard prologue entitled "For Teachers and Parents" and this is what... " Read more of this review » |

Juan Ramon Jimenez (1881-1958) was a Spanish poet who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1956. He mostly wrote erotic poems but critics say that they were in "true" French form. However, in 1914, he gave tribute to his hometown (an Andalusian v...

| Sherlock Holmes is surprisingly an accessible read. Great light classic reading, and Holmes' (and their movie/tv spinoffs) deduction skills are amazing! | |

| I like Neil Gaiman's writing style - very engaging, but a lot of the stories here seem to me like fragments. Very good ones every now and then, though. I'm only halfway through the book. | |
“When microorganisms die, they make oil; when huge timbers fall, they make coal. But everything here was pure, unadulterated rubbish that didn't make anything. Where does a busted videodeck get you? ”

“Crazy people made him crazy. It was as if he personally resented them giving into madness - in part, because he so frequently labored to behave sanely. When some people gave up the labor of sanity, or failed at it, Garp suspected them of not trying hard enough. ”

Description:
I love listening to paranormal folklore and ghost stories, especially when told on a dark night with a group of friends for company. Reading scary stories doesn't usually do much for me-- I like hearing them better. But it's frustrating when I forget good stories which is why I'm chronicling them here. I'll be updating this collection from time to time. Maybe others can share their stories as well :)

Description:
Notes: This is a fanfiction of the manga Pet Shop of Horrors.
Warning: Contains yaoi (boy-boy love) and (non-explicit) love scenes.
I had previously stashed this story away as it was not up to standards but now I'm putting it up as a revenge against Twilight. Why? Because I started reading Twilight to see what the fuss was all about and giving it benefit of the doubt. I was sorely disappointed. It's not the worst I've read, but it's far from the best either. It's decidedly MEDIOCRE! Twilight is a mediocre novel full of cheese, awkward flirting, sap, and mush. This is a story I trashed because it is a mediocre work full of cheesiness, awkward flirting, sap and fwaff.
At least this fic served a purpose: it purged the cheese and mush right out of me. Here's hoping my next work would be better (and cheesiness-free).
All criticisms appreciated. I have a thick skin.
