After learning that Anna and St. Clair make an appearance in Lola and the Boy Next Door I had to immediately download it. It's amazing to know that Anna and St. Clair are still together and more in love than ever. Their story is still in my head I loved it so much.
However, this book is about Lola and did not disappoint. While I didn't love it as much as Anna and the French Kiss, I still couldn't put it down. My last two days revolved around finding time to sneak in a chapter.
Although, I have to be honest - I didn't care for Lola as much as I did for Anna. However, it was still a great read that I recommend. I think Anna's story just appealed to me more than Lola's. Lola was a little quirky for my taste. I just didn't relate to her like I did to Anna.
I didn't understand Max and Lola's relationship, especially after Cricket showed up. I loved how Cricket was the boy Lola never forgot, despite her trying. But, the fact that she hated him at first I thought built up to a better story in my head than when I actually found out what happened to make her dislike him so much in the beginning. She was dreading their return and it seemed like it was over something pretty silly.
I also remember Lola stating sex with Max wasn't as wonderful as she had hoped, especially since he was her first. I couldn't help but hope for more than just kissing with Cricket, and her comparing how different it was with him. It didn't have to get graphic by any means, but SOMETHING.
I loved how Lola had two dads. In today's society it's not a rare thing to see and to see it in a book was pretty refreshing. It was different. It fit Lola.
I can't wait for the author's third book!!(less)

Overall, I LOVED it! Anna is sent to boarding school in Paris, much to her disliking. She has to leave her home and friends, but while there she finds new friends, learns a lot about herself, and even finds true love. Her situation of being in a new city, new place, etc, makes it easy to relate to for anyone has has left home to go to college. All the events, scenarios, reactions, relationships, etc, were all very real. Nothing seemed forced or too far fetched.
St. Claire and Anna were amazing, likable characters. There were times I loved them and times I hated them for making the decisions they did, they were human and acted like normal human beings, which overall made them extremely easy to relate to.
All in all, I could not put this book down, I was completely hooked from the moment I picked it up. I already can't wait to re-read and highly recommend it!(less)

I loved this book! What a fun modern day fairy tale version of Beauty and the Beast!! I did like the 2010 movie based on this book, but I loved the book more so than the movie. I really love how there is a movie tie in though, it allows me to picture the characters a little better, which is always fun. I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this book. It was slightly different than the movie and definitely in a good way! My issues with the movie were solved in the book!
I loved the e-counseling chat - it made me LOL!
I'm used to reading books told from the girls perspective because obviously I can relate more, so it was a little different to read from the guys point of view. Alas, this is the beasts story and I enjoyed reading it. The transformation he made from human to beast and back to human came across wonderfully on paper. I'm really excited to read the newly published Lindy's diary, which is her story.
I highly recommend reading this book, especially if you're a happily ever after lover like myself!(less)
