Largely a dissapointment. I wouldn't recommend it for people who like a good, riveting story. Just not that kind of book!

It reminded me of the Sopranos series where you kept waiting for storylines to resolve, and they never did. What happened to Booty's article? Were they going to publish it or not? Is Ludo running away from his marraige? Did he have an ulterior motive? Did Messaud get paid extra for all the words I had to look up in a dictionary?

I felt the author's skill has improved with this book and it is more interesting because the dragon is now center-stage.

I picked up this book without knowing it was meant for young readers. As an adult, I did enjoy this book, but could see the heavy influence of books like the Lord of the Rings series.

I knew when I started reading that the author was a young man himself, and I could see some of his inexperience while reading.

But that didn't detract from the enjoyment of reading this book.
