| The Practice Effect had an interesting premise, but shortly after we find out what it actually is the story ended for me. I didn't connect to characters, I didn't get engaged in the plot, and I essentially was bored. Great idea, bad execution. | |

| I have mixed emotions about this book, but in the end I was constantly dabbling off stories to others from it so this tells me one thing: It reached me. The long review shows that I was engaged in the book. Deborah Rodriguez opens a beauty school in...more | |

“Isn't it odd how much fatter a book gets when you've read it several times?" Mo had said..."As if something were left between the pages every time you read it. Feelings, thoughts, sounds, smells...and then, when you look at the book again many years later, you find yourself there, too, a slightly younger self, slightly different, as if the book had preserved you like a pressed flower...both strange and familiar.”
