"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."

Hi Lisa,
Your reading list is AWESOME and an inspiration to the rest of us slackers to get reading!
Best wishes!

Great! I'm happy that others are able to make use of them. I'm a bit obsessive with them but the YALSA Book Listserv I'm on definitely helps me out! I hope to use them while doing readers advisory once I'm a trueblue YA Librarian!!
Are you already working with youth somewhere? Libraries and Literacy is one of my favorite courses I've taken so far. I love my professor and have been reading so much lit. in the field. It's provided me with the opportunity to really make time to do that and in doing so I found out all about the exciting things librarians can do with video/computer games and literacy with YA's! We have covered a smorgasbord of topics including adolescent aliteracy, emergent literacy, ESL library patrons and literacy, information literacy. Yeah, I've gone a little crazy here on GoodReads but now this is the go-to place whenever I need a book for anything! It's great to have them organized in one place.
I'll be graduating in August. Where are you at and what are you taking this semester? I take distance ed. courses with the University of South Carolina and am taking a class on organizing and retrieving information as well as Libraries and Literacy.
Yea, always a pleasure to meet a fellow YA librarian! Are you currently in school or out in the field?
Hi Lisa, This might sound weird to share, but I know you love YA.
Yesterday our daughter told us at dinner that she was the only one that got 100% on her class geography test on the states and capitals. She's a senior. He gave them 10 minutes to review. I said she reminded me of The Great Brain. ;o) You would understand!
Lisa, keep reading and reading and reading. Best wishes in all you do. I'll send you a link to a book I've just written.
