This books is all about the middle and I could have done away with the beginning and ending. Luckily, I didn't give up and got to experience the rich language and prose of Julia Glass. Excellent!

I really enjoyed this book and it was a good vacation read. Never reading Anita Shreve before, I can see why she is considered a guilty pleasure. Some of the story was rather predictable but I like the characters and the ending.
