Valerio's poetic prose provides an enthralling glimpse into his life lived in two genders. His social and biological changes serve to both dispel and prove certain assumptions about our perceived male/female dichotomy.

Apolitical Manifesto for Strap-On Sex (Gay & Lesbian)
1 chapters   —   updated Mar 29, 2010 04:32PM
Description: Written in direct response to a piece titled "A Political Manifesto for Strap-On Sex" I found in a queer zine. This piece, as the title gives away, shows the inextricable link between strap-on sex and gender/sexuality politics. And although I agree that we cannot always separate the two I think it's important to not think of our beds as the political battleground all the time. While at Grinnell I participated in the "Grinnell Monologues," our response to Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologues". The GMons (as they were commonly referred to) were a way for us to talk about issues beyond those discussed by Ensler, including the male perspective, and gave us an opportunity to talk about these issues with a "Grinnellian flavor." Anywho. This is the last monologue I wrote for the Fall 2006 performance. I found it in one of my bags and decided to share.
