is 67% done with January First: It's a really interesting story and I truly feel for poor Jani, but after reading a bit more about the family it feels a bit exploitative to even be reading it. It's obvious throughout the book that Michael and Susan are terrible parents. They manipulate Jani and Michael seems to have serious entitlement/martyr issues.
