Another amazing book by Jon Krakauer. I found myself completely pulled in by the story of Tillman's life. What a fascinating and heroic person he was. The part of the book that recounts his death is amazingly moving; I was getting choked up listening to it on CD in the car on the way to work. I also found myself incredibly angry at the military and the government for how they covered up the fact that Tillman's death was due to friendly fire, and how they lied in order to use him, someone who adamantly refused to be used during his life, for political gain. This book just might be my #1 "must read" recommendation of the year so far (and during a year where I've read a lot of books I really loved, no less).
