People have done this before, so I thought it might be useful to hang on their coattails. A group started in January, so I thought we could just use their discussion group and start a new thread. It makes more sense than having everyone comment on reviews on each others’ homepages and having all of your still-very-nice-but,-let’s-face-it,-they-can’t-hang non-Proustian friends listen in and get bored. And maybe as we approach Volume IV (yes, I’m being optimistic) some of the readers who started in January may decide to join us.

So what you need to do is join their group, “Remembrance of Things Past 2008.” (Yes, they are using the retro title for their discussion group, but hey, I give them tons and tons and tons of credit!) Let me know if you need help figuring out how to do this.

In a nutshell, there’s no shame here. Do what you can. The more the merrier -- it just is very inspirational to know that there are others out there we can talk to about the experience, no matter how much you’re able to stick with this. Invite your friends. I’ll start a new discussion thread in their group before August 1st . Please join in on August 2nd or whenever!!!

Oh - and a real-life and Goodreads friend of mine is on the last volume and told me there’s some S&M in the 4th volume! So hang in there!
