A great first book. I think the world this author created is very unique. I loved the slow build of plot. I was not told what was happening, I discovered it. The story was told from many different characters, but it was obvious that Talen would be the hero of this story. I loved the viewpoint of the monster, Hunger, and his inner struggle with who he had been and what he is now.
